The Juno Flex Card is designed to allow you to make wellbeing purchases. There's an almost endless list of things you can spend it on, but in order to make sure that it's only used for its intended purpose, it's blocked on certain categories and merchants.

If your Juno Flex Card has just been declined, it's worth checking out this article which will help you figure out what's happened. Read on below if you just want to know more about blocked merchants and categories specifically.

Merchants

If you try and purchase from a blocked merchant, you'll get an email from Juno saying that your payment has failed because of an 'unauthorised merchant'. This is a new feature of the card, which is why a payment to the same merchant might have been successful for you before.

If a merchant is blocked on the card, this is usually because it's possible to make non-wellbeing purchases through them. This includes big ecommerce sites like Amazon, Ebay, Etsy and AliExpress, fast fashion sites like Prettylittlething, Boohoo and Shein, and fast food delivery services like Deliveroo, Doordash and Uber Eats.

But what if you want to buy sportswear off Asos, or a birthday celebration meal off Deliveroo, or an exercise bike off Amazon? We've got you covered. As long as your chosen item will meaningfully help your wellbeing, we will happily reimburse you for it if you send us the receipt. Reimbursements take place on Tuesdays and Fridays so you won't have to wait long to be paid back. You can submit an expense here.

Categories

The Juno Flex Card is also blocked on whole categories of websites. Points can't be spent on, for example, alcoholic beverages and non-fitness related clothing, and so clothing and alcohol-related merchants are blocked. Other blocked merchants include sports betting sites, dating services, and cigar stores. If you get an email from Juno saying that the purchase failed because of a 'Blocked Category', this is why.

If you attempt to make a wellness purchase and you get an email saying 'Blocked Category', please reach out to our customer support team via the live chat and refer to the 'Blocked Category' mentioned in the email. We'll check what you're purchasing, then unblock it for you on our end.
